The Lung Institute of Western Australia aims to develop a better understanding of lung disease by conducting a broad range of research so that the burden of respiratory illness world wide can be reduced.

Your financial support will help the Institute conduct research into potential cures for fatal diseases such as Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (emphysema) and respiratory conditions such as asthma, which affects millions of Australians.

The funds you donate are used to help with:

Providing scientists with the equipment and space they need to continue their vital work.
Providing PhD scholarships which ensure our country’s brightest minds are able to apply their talents to respiratory research.
Help raise awareness within the Government and community about the impact of respiratory disease.
Employing a small number of support personnel to manage the day to day affairs of the Institute.

Already LIWA has made important breakthroughs in respiratory treatments but we need your continued help.
