Biological SciencesThe Biological Sciences division is comprised of the Tissue Repair Unit, the Molecular Genetics Unit, the Inflammation/Immunology Unit and the Pleural Disease Unit. The division is mutidisciplinary in utilising a number of research strategies aimed at determining the fundamental mechanims of respiratory cell biology. By creating a network of research units within the division, several key initatives are facilitated for the Institute's research programme. These include critical mass of interrelated research personnel, improved funding opportunities, an increased number and enhanced development of postgraduate students and postdoctoral scholars and development and testing of potentially new therapeutic interventions. |
