BIOLOGICAL SCIENCESThe Biological Sciences division adopts a ‘multidisciplinary approach’ to its research by utilising a number of differing research strategies, all of which are aimed at determining the fundamental mechanisms of respiratory cell biology. By creating a network of research units within the division, several key initiatives are facilitated for the Institute's research programme. These include critical mass of interrelated research personnel, improved funding opportunities, an increased number and enhanced development of postgraduate students and postdoctoral scholars and development and testing of potentially new therapeutic interventions.
