Travel Awards

LIWA supports the careers of young medical scientists by offering three Travel Awards which assist the successful applicants attend national or international conferences to present original research work into respiratory diseases.

The Institute offers two travel awards up up to $1,750 for junior medical scientists and one travel award of up to $3,000 for a senior medical scientist.

The awards are intended to help fulfil the Institute's objectives of encouraging excellence in research in all areas of lung disease.

Application for the Junior Travel awards have now closed.

Applications for the LIWA Senior Travel Award closed on Friday 4 December 2009 at 5pm.

Past Travel Award Recipients

LIWA is proud that many of its past applicants have travelled to places such as San Diego and Copenhagen to present papers at the American Thoracic Society meeting and give presentations to the European Respiratory Society.
